Counselling and Psychotherapy

Counselling & Psychotherapy are "talking therapies" which help you to explore the feelings and emotions that are often related to your life experiences. Therapy allows you to reflect on what is happening and consider alternative ways of doing things. In sessions you will be encouraged to talk about yourself and your situation. The therapist will help you explore connections between your present feelings and actions and past events. Feelings thoughts, wishes, memories and dreams can be explored within the relationship.

Gradually a greater degree of understanding can be achieved, enabling you to find more appropriate ways of coping with the difficulties you may be struggling with.

The therapy you will receive at Psychotherapyworks Merseyside is bound by the Ethical Framework for Good Practice of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy. These guidelines can be found at
